Explore shape and colour in the context of still life.

We will put together a collection of pots against a simple pieced background. These images may be representational or become abstract. Designs made will then be created by machine using free running stitch We will use a limited colour scheme to explore contrasts, combinations and blended colour.
by the end of the two day course you should have completed one or two small pieces of stitching. Going forward these may become individual framed images or a part of something else such as a decorative panel on a bag or a series of images combined to make a much larger piece.
The ‘pots and patches ‘ theme should inspire participants to think about how simple shapes and themes can be translated into textiles.
